Our Board & Train Programs are held in Lakewood, WA. Your dog will live with their assigned trainer in their personal home. This type of training setting has shown the best results due to the trainer being able to mimic and every day home setting.

–Upon drop off for board and train program owners are allowed to see where their dog will be staying.

-Dogs are assigned a properly sized and secure crate/kennel.

–Dogs stay inside the home in a clean, well lit , and temperature controlled environment

–Areas are sanitized weekly and as needed

During these programs your pup will be in a fully immersive dog training environment and will be taken on public field trips to generalize obedience.

Field trips can include:

-Dog Friendly Establishments -(Lowes/Home Depot/Cabelas/Bass Pro)

-Parks/Trails

Different neighborhood settings

Our trainers are experts in reading and understanding dog behavior. They may see minor to major behavior issues that typically have never been seen/ brought to your attention by anyone else.

Yes! A common misconception is that owners will learn nothing if a dog goes to a board and train program. However, that is far from the truth. Our programs are designed to give both owners and dogs a solid foundation to work with. They revolve around teaching owners how to remain consistent back home and apply what the dog has learned with us in different environments

No, Our training after meeting your dog and working with them will be able to match the best equipment that fits their specific needs and provides clear communication. different environments

We use Slip Leashes, Martingales, Starmark, Prong and E-Collars because, when used properly, they are an effective tool in communicating with a Dog. These collars have had a negative stigma in the past due to lack of knowledge of how to properly introduce these tools and improper ethics in the manipulation of the tools.

Do not let these negative stigmas stop you and your dog from having the relationship you want. The modern day E-Collar we use is the cutting edge in technology and is the same technology as the TENS unit (which is commonly used for physical therapy).

If the owner is willing to change habits and be receptive to feedback we believe most dogs can definitely be helped.

As behavioral specialists we are usually the last stop for most dogs after they have seen a multiple number of other trainers. We will not turn you away or reject a dog due to bite history, the dogs breed, or level of aggression. Sadly, people are made to believe their dogs are untrainable and therefore they should put up with the behavior or get recommended for Euthanasia. We are here to inform you that there is still a chance and we have continuously saved countless dogs from being rehomed or Euthanized. We never forget why we started this career, and that is to save and help as many dogs as we can.

We do not just disappear after the completion of your program we have multiple options available and are only open to our past board and train clients.

Here at Amani K9 we understand every dog learns differently and will benefit from different techniques and equipment. Once we assess your dog, your goals, and the needs of your dog, we will determine what equipment is the best fit for your dog. Not all dogs need remote collars, not all dogs need prong collars, our dogs just need the best tools that communicate clearly and effectively to them.

No Amani K9 does not guarantee the success of dogs training. It is unethical for any training company to guarantee anything when it comes to dog training. There are many factors to the success of dogs training during program such as:

(1) Owner’s willingness and ability to heed the advice of Amani K9

(2) Owner’s proper and consistent reinforcement and use of Amani K9’s recommended training methods at all times

(3) Owner maintaining transparent and open communication about dogs training back home.

(4) Dog’s genetics and history.

All training programs are final and non-refundable.

We understand you will be missing your pups which is why we send end-of-the-week report cards. Please note that providing quality care and training for your pups takes time and is our number one priority.

When do I get updates?

End-of-the-week detailed updates on your dog’s training journey and overall health are sent Sundays.

These are usually sent on Sunday night after the training day is over.
